Jewelry will last  a long time if taken care of. Avoid wearing jewelry when washing hands, showering, exercising, or doing anything strenuous. Keep your jewelry away from chemicals, especially perfume, alcohol, windex, and anything acidic.

When not wearing your jewelry, store it in a sealable plastic bag. This will slow down any oxidation or tarnishing.

sterling silver

To clean your sterling silver jewelry, use mild soap and water. Dry the jewelry off completely.  Oxidized (intentionally darkened) jewelry will lighten over time and with wear, giving it an antique silver finish. Never use a silver polishing cloth on oxidized silver jewelry. Non-oxidized sterling silver jewelry can be polished with a silver polishing cloth.

gold

To clean your gold plated and gold-filled jewelry use mild soap and water. Dry the jewelry off completely.

brass

Brass jewelry might darken over time. To slow down the process, clean your brass jewelry using mild soap and water. Dry the jewelry off completely.

acrylic

To clean your acrylic jewelry, gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Dry with soft cloth or tissue.  Acrylic is an incredibly lasting material and will retain its color for 8-10 years. If your acrylic jewelry is especially dirty, use liquid cleaners such as Novus 1 and Brillianize with a microfiber cloth.
