Jewelry Production Assistant Position at Olivia Shih

The jewelry studio of Olivia Shih is looking for a part-time jewelry production assistant to start in September or October. Based in North Oakland near Piedmont Avenue, this jewelry studio makes both bridge and fine jewelry and is dedicated to ethical metalsmithing.

Requirements

• Benchwork
  • Have basic jewelry fabrication skills such as sawing, filing, polishing, and soldering
  • Passionate about benchwork
• Physical
  • Comfortable with getting your hands dirty
  • Repetitive physical movements
  • Ability to work with small pieces
• General
  • Punctual
  • Detail oriented
  • Quick to learn (our production process includes techniques such as Keum Boo and lapidary)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting
• Health
  • Be triple vaccinated for Covid-19
  • Wear a mask while in the studio
